Guiding

24 of the peaks in Hurrungane are over 2000 meters high. Most can be easily climbed, but can require climbing skills and/or glacier experience. A guide can offer you such assistance. The guides from Norgensguidene AS are well experienced with Turtagrø.

Skiing

From Eastern until the middle of June there are many wonderful opportunities for tours and skiing/ snowboarding on Turtagrø.

Easy trips

By easy trips we mean that it should take you about two to four hours and the trip can be done without the use of heavy hiking boots. Of course expect some steep climbs, however the terrain is not such that you need to be an experienced hiker to appreciate that which the trip has to offer.

More challenging trips

By this we mean trips that will take you between 4 and 8 hours and which need a good pair of hiking boots. Most of the trips take the route along well-marked paths, however it is worth noting that the terrain can at times be quite rugged and challenging. These trips take more effort and time than the easier trips, however the rewards are ever more that spectacular, in terms of views and self-achievement.

Climbing

The trips that are mentioned in this section requires the use of quality climbing equipment and experience on the part of the climber, or on the other hand the use of an experienced guide. We name here just a few of the most popular trips, however many more are to be found.

By the Lustrafjord

The trip to the south side of the Lustrafjord, 10 minutes by car from Turtagrø Hotel, is called The Romantic Road. This area has a fascinating history. In the reception you can buy the small booklet ‘The Romantic Road” that describes the road and its various attractions.
